FYI in this poem the moon is the figurative lighthouse!
I walk out onto my moon lit
balcony. The moon dresses my
every sight in white satin, so
soft that that when you reach
your cool gritty seasoned hands
out to touch it it makes your
thoughts run wild.
Your ghoulish unshaven and
unearthly looks float into your
head. You feel like the beast out of
the movie the beauty and the beast.
And you are but love is deeper than
that love is what truly fills your
veins and thoughts. Then you see
something the complete opposite
of you.
It make your brain run like a
top of the line Rolls Royce. It
makes you think of that women.
That women you met three years
ago at the bakery where you
go everyday to pick up a fresh
loaf of bread.
And she is running as fast as
that car will let your brain go.
You recall seeing her smile, those
pearl colored whites glistening
with the ever burning
passion she has for you.
You remember
her hair smooth and full of curls
rolling down her back caressing
her body. They seem almost
endless just like the love you
have for her.
You remember her body, like it
came straight out of a painting
of pure, beautiful, perfection.
And you take it all in
as you touch those beautiful soft
white satin sheets. And you smile
to yourself because you remember
that she is right there laying
in them.
Your thoughts stop and your
eyes widen. She is there. Right
out of your memory. Looking up
at you smiling at her. And your love
jumps out of your chest and so does
hers.
They dance together in mid air
and they become one, as they set out
on the journey as they once did before
when they let their love wander. And
you finally found the beauty to your
beast. And you both wander on the
path of everlasting love.

You've got some beautiful lines in here and I especially like this one: "And your love
ReplyDeletejumps out of your chest and so does
hers." I've never quite heard it said this way and that makes it unique.
A lovely look at a moonlit night and thoughts it brings.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your creative post...lovely imagery and I love the meataphor of love. Stunning words and nicely written.
ReplyDeleteNicely written. An evocotive interpretation of the prompt.
ReplyDeleteThe moon is a beacon in many ways.
ReplyDeleteWow! Can I have a piece of the moon over your balcony. It does wonders!
